Main Task Flat Plans

Front Cover
I wanted my main cover to be simple but at the same time eye catching to the reader.
The first thing the reader is most likely to see is the main image followed by the quote across it, so for that reason; I decided to put my main image in the centre of the page where it will stand out the most to the reader and grab their attention. My main image wil be behind most of the features on the front cover, this allows more space for more information. The main image will be simple as well with soft colours and a simple pose to allow the reader's eyes to freely move across the page to the next part of my magazine.
The next feature the reader is going to look at will be the quote going across the main image, for this reason I will have to choose a catchy quote that will grab the reader's interest. The quote will also have to be bright and bold in a catchy font to have the deisred effect.
The reader will also notice the mast head placed at the top left hand of the magazine. My mast head will have to be bright and easily identifable with the reader. The mast head then allows the reader to naturally move on to the price of the magazine and the issue number. Both these features are important for the reader, the price needs to be easy to read and to understand so the reader will find it easy to buy the magazine. The issue number is important for the reader too; the issue number allows frequent readers to keep up to date with the latest issues.
The coverlines on my magazine will cover the bottom part of my image; the coverlines will have to be bright and colourful so as to stand out to the readers. It is important that they are interesting and are relevant to the articles inside of the magazine. The main coverline will releate to my main image and my other coverlines will relate to the other images and features of the magazine.
There will also be special features on my magazine; this is to advertise and sell the magazine. The special feature could be a free poster, free items or exclusive news andinterviews.

Contents Page

My contents page will have one image of my main artist and a smaller image of another artist; these images are to sell the magazine and are associated with the appropiate contents.

Survey Answers

This graph tells me that most of the people who answered my questionnaire are female and this could impact the responses I will recieve in other questions.
This graph tells me that out of the tweleve people who answered the questionnaire that nine of them are aged between 18 and 24 and 3 are aged 17 and under. This could also effect the answers I recieve on other questions

These responses tell me what sort of music people would most enjoy listening to; the majority of people answered rock.

These answers inform me on the types of magazines people would read, the majority of people answered Kerrang magazine; which links in with the most popular genre of music been listened to as been answered Rock, as Kerrang is a rock magazine.

These answers infom me as to what would make someone want to buy a magazine and what they would want to see on  the front cover of one. These answers vary with a few answers saying they would like free stuff or posters in the magazine. This infoms me on the kind of features I may want to put into my magazine to make it sell.
This graph represents how much money people think a music magazine should cost the reason I asked this was; for it to advise me how much to make my magazine cost to make it sell. Most of the people who took the questionnaire believe a fair price would be between £2.00 and £2.99

These answers tell me what people would want to see in their ideal music magazine; most people answered with they wanted to read the latest news and interviews with their favourite artists, other people wanted to see different features like fashion and some wanted to see free stuff.
These answers give me an idea on what to advertise in my magazine, I may choose to advertise a fashion brand or have the latest interview with a new act.
This graph tells me how people would prefer to read their magazine; these answers were a suprise as I expected most people to say electronic over paper copy due to it would be faster and easier to read on a electronic device. However most people would rather go out and buy a paper copy.
So this tells me to make my magazine not only avaliable to read via a paper copy but also to make it avaliable to read electronically so it can reach a wider reading audience.

These responses tell me what people would want to read in a music magazine; like any particular artist or any particular article. Once again most people have answered with interviews; this tells me that maybe instead of just one main interview that I could include a few; this may make my magazine sell more than other magazines

I gave the option of anyone wanting to provide any extra infromation about music magazines, most people said no and some people took it as a chance to be slightly immature. This could give the impression that they didn't take the survey seriously, however I did recieve many responses and good answers which can help me make my magazine better.
However my answers could be seen as been unfair and biased and unreliable as many of the people who took the questionnaire were mainly young and female and my questionnaire didn't reach a wider audience who could have given more of a variety of answers.
